As the amusement and arcade industry continues to evolve, strong leadership and diverse perspectives are helping shape its future. In recognition of International Women’s Day, we’re proud to spotlight Rebecca Hirsch, Vice President of Sales and Operations Integration at Innovative Concepts in Entertainment (ICE), whose journey and leadership reflect the growing impact of women across the industry.
International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8, has long been an opportunity to recognize women’s achievements, raise awareness of gender equality, and support initiatives that empower women around the world. Within the attractions and amusement sector, women like Hirsch are helping lead that progress.
Hirsch’s career in the industry began somewhat unexpectedly. In 2005, shortly after moving to the Buffalo area, she attended her cousin’s bridal shower where she happened to sit next to the human resources director from ICE. When Hirsch mentioned she was searching for a job, she learned the company had an opening for a receptionist. After interviewing shortly afterward, she joined the company in September of that year. “That unexpected moment ended up launching my entire career in this industry — and now, 20 years later, I’m still here,” Hirsch said.
Although the arcade and amusement business was new to her at the time, Hirsch grew up in a family business environment, which helped her quickly adapt to the fast-paced and collaborative nature of the industry. Over the past two decades, she has taken on numerous roles within ICE, building a deep understanding of the company and its customers. “I’ve made it a point to learn as many roles as possible so I can step in and support the team whenever and wherever I’m needed,” Hirsch explained. “I’ve been fortunate to be mentored by colleagues who have been at ICE a long time. We work together as a team and treat each other like family.”
Throughout her career, Hirsch has seen positive change in the industry, particularly in terms of diversity and leadership opportunities for women. “The industry has become more diverse over the years, with more women stepping into leadership roles within manufacturing and distribution,” she said. “It’s encouraging to watch that momentum build, and I’m excited to see how much more our industry will grow.” Hirsch believes that women bring valuable perspectives to the workplace, strengthening teams and helping organizations grow and evolve.
At ICE’s annual holiday party, Hirsch was recognized for her 20 years of dedication to the company and was honored with a new title: Vice President of Sales and Operations Integration at ICE.
Congratulations to Rebecca, and thank you for your hard work, leadership, and two decades of commitment to ICE. Here’s to another 20 years! 🎉
