With those goals in mind, Innovative Concepts in Entertainment (ICE) is proud to introduce ICEBALL X, the next chapter in the evolution of the classic alley roller.
Rather than reinventing what made ICEBALL a classic, ICEBALL X builds on its proven foundation with thoughtful gameplay enhancements that add depth without sacrificing its accessibility. Players still chase high scores in the traditional scoring pockets, but now they can also aim for five illuminated X pockets spread across the playfield. Completing the X unlocks the X Bonus, while the 4 Corner Bonus and Line Bonus introduce new scoring opportunities that reward precision and strategy. The result is a game that’s easy enough for a child to enjoy alongside a parent yet engaging enough to challenge even the most seasoned alley roller veteran.
ICEBALL X also debuts a multiplayer “Great Race”, an all-new multiplayer experience where two to four players compete simultaneously in a live “race” to the highest score. Dynamic player tracking, colorful animations, and exciting winner celebrations transform every multiplayer game into an engaging competition that attracts players and spectators alike.

As ICEBALL X took shape, the development team focused on evolving the alley roller without losing what has made the game a staple of arcades for decades. “We wanted to keep the classic feel, but bring in some new, modern elements to challenge a new generation of players,” said David Cumbo, Creative Director at ICE. That balance between familiarity and innovation remained central throughout development. “The goal was to make it feel familiar, but at the same time, give it that ‘I gotta roll one more time’ feeling,” Cumbo added. The team also recognized how the arcade experience itself has evolved. “Arcades today are much more about social experiences and shared fun than they were 30 years ago when the original ICEBALL came out,” said Mike Andrews, Development Project Manager.
ICEBALL X enters production on August 10, 2026, and represents the next chapter in one of the arcade industry’s most recognizable games. By combining the timeless appeal of classic alley roller gameplay with meaningful new features, enhanced multiplayer competition, and a modern presentation, ICEBALL X gives today’s players another reason to give it just one more roll, while providing operators with a fresh looking modern durable, high-replay attraction game built for the next generation of arcades.
